The Roadside units installed on our streets are capable of both transmitting and receiving signals to/from other vehicles via Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) radios operating in the 5.9 Gigahertz (GHz) band approved for DSRC use by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and will implement the appropriate Institute of Electrical and Electronics engineers (IEEE) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) standards (e.g. IEEE 802.11p, IEEE 1609 family, and SAE J2735, J2945/x).
